The Leisure Precinct of the project connects to the Aquatic precinct via the main landscape spine. This green space is flanked by the community leisure building and swimming pool. The beautiful poinciana trees which delineate the spine offer shady spaces to sit and relax, while the external paving patterns that wrap around the function spaces relate both to the road patterns as well as the floor patterns inside the building. A major design driver was the integration of architecture, landscape and interiors.

The leisure building serves as a focal point for the visitor’s arrival experience and for the community. Equitable access has been provided throughout while pedestrian passage through the building entry connects the pedestrian/vehicle street network on both sides of the building. Patterned uplighting on the pool ceiling creates a good sense of theatre which has met with great enthusiasm by Halcyon and residents alike.
