Berwick Community Clubhouse
Berwick, Victoria
Community
Capitalising on its site location within the precinct the planning frames internal views to the landscape and provides light into the social spaces on the southern side of the building. By breaking up the roof form that we affectionately called sliding gables, the new form created outdoor spaces to the north and enhanced solar access. Solar energy collection opportunities improved with the layout.

The grand form of the entry honours the local materiality of regional architecture while adding a modern twist to the barn all grown up into a classic homestead. The functional spaces internal to the Clubhouse link out to beautiful outdoor zones that encourage gathering and reflection. Dedicated outdoor functional zones like the outdoor kitchen and dining space were enhanced by architectural forms the become markers for way finding.
