Evergreen Sales & Stables
North Clyde, Victoria
Commercial
Co-located in an existing master planned community, Evergreen takes advantage of existing networks and connections. The masterplan was guided by achieving passive solar design to all dwellings linking off a strong central boulevard.
This central boulevard connects the Stables at entry to the feature community clubhouse on the east. DC8 Studio, as the architect for the Victorian housing suite, could achieve an integrated design response between individual houses and urban design strategies.

The arrival experience for Evergreen incorporated the sales building with functions for residents to discover the community and visualise their future home. The spaces in this building were designed such that once sales in the community are complete, some minor renovations would handover additional arts and community spaces to the residents. Care and attention was undertaken to minimise disruption and rework to realise this. Consideration on the location and design of the future Workshed to the south will complete this future use.
The Sales Welcome Centre is also home to the Stables which includes a games room, social and cinema spaces around a fireplace courtyard that day one residents have open access to use. The architecture takes inspiration from traditional stable designs with deep draw down eaves and simple regular structural features.
