The site is part of the gateway to the Willowdale Estate, Denham Court in south-western Sydney. The brief comprised of delivering a quality integrated development into the exiting estate while optimising density. Well considered streetscapes were also required across the 31 town homes in attached, semi-detached and detached formats.
The challenges of the site comprised of a collector road interface, topography falls from front to rear, orientation north to south lots and only pedestrian access to the front of lots.
To address these site constraints DC8 developed a masterplan and product based on rear loaded dual frontage town homes with both front and rear yards that balanced sun access and shielded outdoor space. Generally, lots were split level front to back at the garage such that street levels aligned to entry points.
Open plan layouts were utilised to maximise open feel of ground floors and linkages to outdoor spaces. Smart and efficient first floor plans ensured that circulation areas were minimised to allow generous bedroom sizing.
The developed design delivered high-quality dwellings, well-presented streetscapes, smartly planned and price point focused solution to complete the gateway to the awarded Willowdale Estate.
