Glades was our second integrated community designed under the Halcyon banner of over 50s lifestyle living. The project is located not far from the centre of Caboolture in a semi-rural setting at affordable prices. Following on from our work at Halcyon Vision, we created a new design direction known as Urban Country Music to drive the design language for both architecture and landscape.
Urban Country Music derives from the beautiful Caboolture landscape and terrain. Caboolture is also the hometown of Keith Urban and the annual Urban Country Music Festival as well as a near neighbour to the Woodford Folk Festival.
A number of house types were developed to meet the specific site requirements and market price points as well as feedback from Halcyon residents and potential buyers. In keeping with the Urban Country Music design direction, a focus was given to creating more gable roof product which seemed fitting to the semi-rural setting as well as having a visual relationship to the Long House community precinct. The houses address the usual concerns in regard to climate and community/privacy relationships.
